Along the same lines as the previous blog, I searched the “gifts” for a pastor’s wife on the same web site. Here are the top 5:
1. Dry highlighters (Seriously??)
2. A doormat that reads: “As for me and my house..”
3. A “word Keeper” bible cover
4. Shield of faith pendants
5. A garden flag that reads: Love one another.

…I know earlier I said I loved the idea of all the gifts. Um, not these! Not all pastor’s wives are 84 and have bible covers. Seriously.

  1. oh, man! this cracks me up! a lot of my family is not saved… and these are the kind of gifts I receive from them! (and I’m 25 years old!) Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate their sensitivity, but I would rather the pottery barn gift card my sister got than another cross knecklace!

  2. LOL… no kidding. A lot of my family IS saved, and I still get lame gifts. My unsaved sister-in-law probably gave me the best gift this year… The Godfather Trilogy! Yes!

  3. I think that by dry highlighters they mean dry MARK highlighters. They are all the craze for those who highlight in their Bibles that do not want to smear the word of the Lord. Honestly, it’s not a bad gift idea if you explain the intent of the product.

  4. Hey, I love your blog! Question for you. My husband is just about to take his first job as a YP and I want to get him a little congrats gift. I am putting together a whole box of fun things he will need as a YP (both serious and funny). As a YP wife, can you think of anything funny or serious that might be fun to add to the gift box? So far I have a book of games, duct tape for when the kids break things, coffee for energy, a nice watch (he just needs one of these) and a few other things. Any thoughts? You can email me. Thanks!

  5. Thanks for writing, I very much liked
