Yesterday I saw, what I thought, was very funny. I hope no one is offended but gets a little giggle from this.
I was at a baby botique-y store and they had this little book called porn for moms. So I had to take a peek (sorry). It had images of men with their shirts off ironing, doing the laundry, giving the kids a bath, handing over the remote, and saying things like, “What can I fix you for dinner?” I was laughing so hard.
Then I had the thought (just a thought, I’d never do it) what would a book called porn for youth pastor’s wives look like? Maybe a guy with a collared shirt on, not an old t-shirt with something silly written on it. Or a guy walking to the front door with flowers in his hand, instead of an XBOX. How about a guy walking his own kids into the child care at church. A guy saying, “Let’s go out for a fancy dinner”, instead of saying, “Come meet us for pizza. There’s about 15 slices left over!”
Ladies, are you turned on
! (hehehehe)

Actually, my ideal night for last night was ordering pizza and playing xbox for hours! I haven’t had pizza in a really long time, we hardly eat it ever, and I haven’t played my favorite game in a while, so I’m hooked this week!
My version would include an image of my husband cleaning up the living room after having his jr high boys small group at our house. I would either fall over dead or attack him in a fit of passionate hormones if that were to ever happen!
Nice! I needed that little giggle today. I think a page with the guy offering to watch a chick flick instead of one more “Napoleon Dynamite style” movie(though, I do laugh out loud when I watch that one in particular) would be of interest to me. I WOULD attack my husband in a fit a passionate hormones if that ever happened.
That is hilarious! I can’t even count the number of youth group t-shirts I wash every week. I will admit I am wearing some of them to bed sometimes, but not THAT many.
LOL! The collared shirt, I totally get that one, my husband hates to dress up in any way shape or form, so he is in the perfect job
Mine would be a picture of a guy with is his bags packed ready for a getaway with no iphone or computer!
oo oo I have another one . . . sleeping in and leisurely cooking breakfast on a SUNDAY morning! Oh, and can this be in combination with the no iphone or computer? That would really get me going.
I am new to this blog…I ran across it when browsing the web and I just thought this post was hilarious! I recently received an email forward with the “porn for women” pictures and thought it was so funny (and true!). My husband is also a youth and young adult pastor at a large church, and wow would I love it if I saw him making snacks for his kids when they come crash at our house…and cleaning up the mess afterwards!
Too funny! I can identify w/ all your “instead of’s”!
Soooo very very true!! Last night a matter of fact … I called and asked what he would liek to do for dinner… and heheheh yet again he said… I have left over pizza from last night and then we can have slurpees!! heheheh I love slurpees and Pizza… but this left over pizza from the night before from sat. service man oh man..
I laughed about the walking your own children to child care! LOL… My husband has no idea where our kids are when they’re at church! And it’s not like our church is THAT BIG!!!
Amanda, this is hilarious, thank you for helping me to see I am not alone in this life of being married to youth pastor.
my porn for youth pastors wife would have to be driving to and from church IN THE SAME CAR!! Unheard of!!! I have not driven in the same car to church with my husband…ever!! Oh, well at least gas is cheap since we all make so much money…oh wait…:)
LOL, you mean not only driving in the same car to church, him walking the kids to their classes, him dressing up in something other than jeans and a baseball cap/mohawk hairstyle? You mean he keeps me a chair in the front row with his jacket and not my purse, bible note book and wow wow wow he acctually made lunch reservations so that I wouldnt have to cook for lunch> – bring on the babysitters moms going to be praying this afternoon.
