So, it has taken me 8 hours (no joke) to pack for a 12 hour car ride, for our family vacation. This SOOOO better be worth it, right? Am I outta mind mind? 3 kids under 5 in a car, jam packed for 12 hours? Ladies??

I’m Amanda Maguire and I have been “Married to a Youth Pastor” for almost 12 years now. We have 3 kids, Dylan (8) and Molly (6) and Scotty (3). I worked in full-time youth ministry for 4 years, got married and got a “real job”, allowing me to continue to be a volunteer in youth ministry for another 4 years. We started having kids and now I’m just married to the Youth Pastor. I have great friends and a fun life! I have a passion and a calling for wives just like me, married to a Youth Pastor.
I love to write.
I love to do creative activities.
I love to run.
I love to shop.
I love to dine out.
And I would love time to do any of these things more.

I used to love to go places. But unlike when it was just Paul and me, it is not as simple as it once was. We are going camping Labor Day weekend and packing for the four kids is a full days job.
For car trips, I trust you packed lots of snacks!!!

Plane ticket! Next time try airfare watchdog. You can get great CHEAP rates. We considered driving to Memphis (10 hours) with our baby. The $98 flight was well worth it.

I hate packing for this reason! And, my husband always wonders why it takes me so long! Go figure! Hope it WAS worth it for the MEMORIES!:-)
This summer my husband had a camp speaking engagement 10 hours north of where we lived. We had commited to doing before we found out that we would be moving 13 hours south of where we lived…. i can certainly sympathize with your stress. (only, to top it off, my family is gluten intolerant – which equals no fast food ever!) Blessings on your travel!
