According to Molly (she’s 2)…
Santa and Jesus work at McDonald’s.
When she sat on Santa’s lap this year she ordered up a football and guacamole. Easy enough ![]()
When she prays at night it sounds something like this: “Thank you God for making me. Thank you for Mommy, Daddy, Bubby, and baby Scotty. I want to play and have a cheeseburger and chocolate milk. I want french fries and guacamole. Amen.”
I can relate on so many levels. I love cheeseburgers, chocolate milk, french fries, and guacamole. I also “order-up” prayers like a drive-thru sometimes.

So true. It’s humbling to think that after all these years I still pray like that sometimes. Thanks for reminding me it’s about more than just “ordering” things from God.
We have a statue that we placed on our dining room table of Santa with his hat off kneeling before baby Jesus in a manger. I would let me son climb up on the table to kiss baby Jesus on the forehead. He’s almost 2. We talked a lot about Jesus. But now every time he sees Santa he says “Jeesus” And I say no baby thats Santa and in his two year old way he says back yeah thats what I said “Jeesus”
Hopefully we’ll get this ironed out before too long.
Melissa,
Sadly there are a lot of grownups who cannot tell the difference either. They are wondering right about now how their credit card bills got so high.
