It's mind blowing to think of all the beautiful works of art, symphony music, and life-changing words that have come from the tip of a pencil because of God's divine influence. You will find strength and endurance to withstand the sharpening because God is already there with you. I too am going through a time of sharpening. My husband just resigned after 5 years of ministry at a church - we've been in the ministry for 20 years now. We leave with no bad feelings or scandal or anything like that. It is just God's time for something else. Somehow the sharpening hurts just the same but, I anxiously await what will come next from the tip of God's pencil. I am praying for you.
