Tell me that's not a YP's kid!

I was at a youth convention awhile back and overheard another youth pastor friend of mine tell his son to get into service. His reply (with a huff) was, "Dad, I already know who Jesus is!" :) I though that was the PERFECT "pastors kid" answer! :) funny!

Hello! I'm not a Pastor's wife, but I grew up a Youth Pastor's kid, and am very involved in my church and I cannot help but to LAUGH out loud when I read a lot of your stuff - this one, in particular, really got me becuase I actually remember thinking the same thing. Kids are great - and I agree... families in the church have no idea what it's like being in a Pastor's Family. And it's probably better that way.

It's funny to hear what kids say, and unfortunately there's a little bit of truth in it, too. I'm married to a man who for the past three years has tried so hard to be a paid youth pastor at a church in our area. He is working a full time job at a place he's not fond of for the money, and spends a lot of his other time with the youth group at our church. Here's the fun part, we had a youth pastor, two actually- and now they are leaving our church (it's on really good terms) to seek God's will for their families. But where does that leave us... It leaves us with two full time jobs and a youth group full time. It's been really rough. Any suggestions?

Hey Amanda,
I was in the office today talking to your husband and he mentioned your site. He gave me the idea to start the site "My Wife is a Youth Pastor". I am just now starting so we will see how it goes. Obviously my audience is a little smaller. It should be fun though. John Snyder

My husband is a YP also and this site has been fantastic! We have 22 month old twins that started out saying that Daddy is at work we would say where, they would say church. Yeah so cute now they just always say he is at church. But that's the life. Thanks for the reality.
