You make me think…

I love the encouragement and wisdom you guys share with one another on this blog. I know that am not the only one who has thoughts and feelings about youth ministry. Diana shared in response to a post and I thought it was packed with great wisdom and thoughtfulness….

Sometimes I just want to take a break. To find balance.
But in these times I believe God wants rest for our souls not just balance. He wants to fuel us, to refresh us with His presence. My husband and I have had the same conversation over the past three years: How do we find GOD’s PEACE in our day-to-day lives in this busy ministry life. Busyness does not equal effectiveness, right? So, what now?
Please God show us your peacefulness–

Thanks Diana, you have given me something to chew on this week…

It’s so true. Sometimes my husband and I feel like if we arent busy with the ministry (which hasn’t really ever happened haha) that we are being lazy for the ministry. God does not want to see us killing ourselves and our families each week doing “things” for the ministry. We are most effective in our ministry when we are refueled and filled with Christ’s peace. Diana, thank you for your reminder to all of us youth pastor’s wives.

What a perfect thought to have when we are facing the Christmas season. God’s peace is with us at all times.

My wife and I just had this conversation last night & this morning & last wk…you get the picture. I feel like when ever I think God has given me ballance between my home life and the Youth Ministry, my wife and daughter feel slanted. Thanks for the reminder to be in truely in Gods will.
